Fruit of Love

Straberries - The Fruit of Love

Strawberries fruit of love

By Anna Lynn Sibal

As the old adage goes, the fastest way to a manís heart is through his stomach. Did you ever wonder, though, that when preparing a feast for a man, including strawberries in the menu is always a must?

Strawberries are often whimsically referred to as the fruit of love. The one obvious reason is the strawberry's heart-shaped form, its sweetness and its vivid red color. Because of this, a lot of love lore has been attached to the strawberry. In Roman times, it was considered the fruit associated with the goddess Venus and often made offerings of the fruit at her temples. In France, newlywed couples are, by tradition, served soup made from thinned sour cream, powdered sugar and strawberries for breakfast as soon as they emerge from their bridal chamber. There is also a legend that if someone eats half of a strawberry and feeds the other half to someone else of the opposite sex, these two people would fall in love with each other in no time.

If a girl loves a guy, probably one of the most obvious ways she could express her feelings is by feeding him strawberries. The simplest way of going about this is by serving him strawberries with whipped cream for dessert. An alternative to strawberries with cream is strawberries coated in chocolate, a double aphrodisiac, as chocolate is another food associated with love and passion. And then there is always the strawberry shortcake and the strawberry cream pie for those who are more endowed with kitchen skills.

How else can a girl seduce a guy using strawberries?
Men are said to be allured by the scent of strawberries, so maybe a girl could apply some strawberry-scented cologne or perfume on her skin before going out on a date. For a planned night of passion, spraying strawberry scent on the sheets will work in enhancing the romantic passion.

For a touch of naughtiness, a girl can entice the guy into engaging in a so-called strawberry kiss.
How is this done?
The girl cuts up a handful of strawberries and pops a large piece in her mouth Ė but without chewing or swallowing it. She then gets the guy to try to pry the strawberry from her mouth using his own mouth. Of course we know where that will lead to.

A girl does not have to be with someone to enjoy the sweetness of strawberries, though. In fact, whether she is attached to someone or not, she should try to eat as many strawberries as she can whenever the fruit is in season. Now why is that? Strawberries are rich in Vitamin C, and Vitamin C is proven to keep the heart healthy and the bodyís immune system strong. A healthy heart and a strong immune system are ingredients to the recipe of a healthy body. The strawberry is also rich in folic acid, potassium and fiber, other nutrients that the body needs.

So, whether a girl is in love or seeking love, or is happy with loving herself, strawberries are definitely in order. Strawberries are truly the fruits of love.
